Christina Valela` (b. 1977, Portland, Oregon), is an Italian American painter and film photographer. Valela` earned her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

Valela` suggests that her work is best viewed in the past tense; that the viewer will only understand the work in this context. She is moving through the ordinary life of one human and sharing what she was looking at, thinking about, and making. The full aim of this body of work is to be understood long after its maker is gone.
